Q: Cellular data grayed out, no SIM card error

Tried to activate 3G on my ipad this past weekend. Apparently could not get a good 3g signal and therefore did not activate. Now the ipad tells me that no sim installed and the cellular data settings are grayed out and cannot be selected.  Any ideas?  Btw, my network would be AT&T.

Eject and reinstall the SIM. Then try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.

Try again to see if the problem persists.

Ok, tried to uninstall/reinstall and reset without any luck.  Still says no SIM card error.  Even tried another SIM from my cell phone, that didn't work either. Thanks anyway.

same problem. guy at the Apple Store suggested I reset/restore my iPad via iTunes but also warned that there's a chance my device will get stuck on the iTunes logo.   Guys, any help?
