My Macbook's DVD drive suddenly turn off.

Some time ago, my DVD drive stop to working, just turn off, won't grab discs and anything. Well, I just think that if i don't use it so often, I will use that space with a Caddy with a SSD. I bought a caddy and it came with a case for the DVD drive so I can use it externaly. I install de caddy, and it don't work, but the DVD drive in the case works perfectly. The only thing I do just about the time this issue starts was install tuxera for NTFS support (I have the latest tuxera version), I uninstall it but the issues still on, I have mavericks on my macbook pro (mid 2012).
