Q: ATV Gen3 suddenly started to drop wifi

Hi

i can see that several people have the same issue as i have. The ATV worked like a charm since i bought it, but 3 days ago it started to drop of rom the Wifi

My other devices don't have this (iPad, iPhone, Macbook).

When using Airplay to stream from Macbook, the stream was live and working but the ATV stopped working

All apps in the ATV (Netflix, iTunes, Redbull etc) closes down randomly after 1 to 10 minutes saying no internet connection.

And as mentioned, no error reported in the router. Rebooted, reinstalled everything, but no luck.

Wifi Router is 5 meters away, no walls inbetween

Any sugestion? Can't find any proper suggestions to work with

Last Update on this. The ATV works perfect with Ethernet (wired) and also with internet share via iPhone. Nb, the internet share was using the same Adsl router that the ATV dropped. As a last try, I turned of AirPlay et voilà, the ATV works without dropping the wi-fi. But without AirPlay the ATV is kind of stupid.....

Thanks, already tried that. Returens the ATV to the store today for repair. It was only a couple of month old so still warranty on it. I hope they are able to fix it

ATV replaced and the new one works. Clearly faulty parts. Perhaps a better quality control should be something to recommend to Apple.

Mine is in the same room only a little over 1 meter away and it disconnected from my 5Ghz network twice so now I have it connected hardwired so now it does not disconnect anymore.

Actually i did.
When i unboxed the new one yesterday it was at 6.02 and it worked perfect.
Automatic update installed 6.1 during the day and then the issue appeared again.
So i beleive its a bug in the new version
Will have a go at it with support
