Q: Airplay icon has disappeared from all devices!!

Airplay icon is not appearing on the control screen when I swipe up on ANY of our devices- iPhone 5, iPhone 5S and iPad 2. All are up to date with iOS 7.1 and have been rebooted. Apple TV and devices are all connected to same network and airplay is turned on. Apple TV has been restarted as well as the router and modem. Apple TV plays netflix without any problem so I would assume that the internet is working just fine with the Apple TV. We use airplay frequently, so it is not a matter of not knowing how to use it!!

Airplay is over the local network, and that is likely where the issue lies. You say the IOS devices are up to date, have you ensured router is as well?

Have you checked the troubleshooting tips?

I had this and it was down to updated Protection Software's Firewall stopping everything. I disabled that and use Apples Firewall.
