Q: my apple tv does not connect with my apple mac

I have apple tv and a mac book pro, however thge apple tv keeps dropping in and out of connectivity despitte both machines being in the same room as the router. Can anyone help resolve this issue please

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)
