30pin Digital AV adapter don't supported on iOS 7.1 so it is impossible to output iPad to TV or projector. Please help

This is not helpful in anyway. I have 2 iPhone 4 devices and the one has the newest update 7.1 and the other has not updated and my 30 pin digital AV adapter only works on the older version.

This happened before with the 6.0 and it didn't support the adapter then it took two (2) more updates to correct it, what gives? I honestly believe and it's hard not to that they do this so that you get rid of your older model and BUY NEW, this if indeed true is very unethical for the simple fact they promote it working with the 4,4s,and 5.

If I'm wrong please explain the fix and don't direct me to a page that explains which phones are supported and which isn't 1 works 1 doesn't, the one that works has older version and the one that doesn't work has the up to date version.

DO NOT SELL A ADAPTER FOR $40 TO CONSUMERS WHEN YOU KNOW FOR FACT IT WILL NOT WORK WITH IPHONE 4 WITH NEWEST SOFTWARE INSTALLED. Is that the New Apple way?
