OS X Mavericks client computer compatibility with OS X 10.7 server

Currently have a server running OS X Server 10.6.8. Most client computers are running 10.6.8 or 10.7.5. We are thinking of replacing a couple of our client computers with new iMacs that will be running Mavericks. I just want to make sure that these new iMacs will still be able to be added to and administered on the 10.6.8 server. The server may be upgraded to 10.7 eventually. I assume that the new iMacs will be compatibile since currently we have client computers that are running a higher OS than the server, but I just wanted to be sure before we make any purchases.
