unable to play itunes rented movie on ipad 3rd gen

Hi, I have rented a movie (the butler) on my Ipad 3rd gen, but it refuses to play: not enough storage. I meanwhile deleted all kinds of apps and photos and freed up to 3,6 GB of storage but the movie still will not play.

iPad (3rd gen) Wi-Fi + Cellular, iOS 7.0.6
