iPhone 5 Boot Loop

Hi, I have had my iPhone 5 for about 8 months now. All of a sudden, it started to freeze. Now it is in a boot loop. It turns on to the Apple logo, then it fades away and shuts off. I've tried connecting it to iTunes but it won't show up. Also, I tried to restore it, but it said "Error 4005". I've researched this and I foundout that this happens to Jailbroken phones. My phone is not jailbroken. How can I fix this problem? If I go to the Apple Store, will they give me a new phone, since its still under warranty? Thank you so much!

Hello malwich,

It sounds like you are getting error message 4005 when trying to restore your device after it had started rebooting itself over and over again. I recommend the following article which mentions this error code named:

iOS: Restore errors 4005, 4013, and 4014

http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5314

Try these steps to resolve the issue:

  1. Install the latest version of iTunes.
  2. Restart your computer.
  3. Make sure your computer is up to date. If an update requires a restart, check for updates again after you restart.
  4. Restore using another USB cable.
  5. Restore your device on another computer.

If you continue to see error 4005, 4013, or 4014 when you restore your device, contact Apple for support.
