Iphoto Books
I need to create a photobook with over 400 images, however any number over 400 are being omitted. Do I have to add them manually, or is there another way around this?

You can change the page layout on the book's pages to one that can hold up to 16 photos depending on the theme chosen.
You are not limitied to the default layouts that appear with with a newly created book:
