Erase All Content and Setting Problems

So i just "reset" my iPad using the "Erase All Content and Settings" option, however the ipad has not "reset" and the loading circle icon is the only thing on the screen. I would appreciate it if someone could tell me how long it might take (it's been more than an hour) and if there is any way i can get my iPad to stop the process. Thank You.
