Q: New audiobook won't sync

It is right there in my itunes library but when I sync it tells me that it can't be found? This is an older ipod touch and I have never had this problem before.

thanks for any help.

Do they play in iTunes on the computer? The message you are getting sounds like iTunes can't find the actual book files.

    Maybe this.

iTunes: Finding lost media and downloads

Note that audio books can't be redownload for free like apps and music can.

Yes, it plays just fine in itunes. This makes no sense. I restarted my computer, zapped the PRam and still it won't sync it. How can it not be found when it is right there and plays? I contacted audible about it (where I get my audio books from). They said to remove it from my itunes library, but I don't see a way to do that other than clicking the sync but and removing all audiobooks.

You can redownload Audio.com audio books. In your iTunes library just right click and select delete. You can also download the Audio.com app and redownoad Audio.com books via the app.

I did redownload it and the same thing happened. Right clicking on it in itunes does not bring up a menu to delete it, nor is there a menu item to move it to the trash. I am using the most recent itunes and mavericks.

    thanks

Whant if you just drag it to Trash?

Also, if you go to iTunes>Store is the Audiable account authorized?

While in iTunes there is no way to drag an item to the trash. So, I looked for the audio book file on my computer and found it in itunes media file and through it out. However, it still appears in iTunes!! I can't remove it.

I have downloaded at least one hundred books from audible and have never had a problem. They always automatically open in iTunes. This does not make sense.

Okay, I figured out how to delete by googling the phrase. None of answers above will do it. Here is how it is done.

    1. Launch iTunes.
    2. From the Library pop-up menu, choose Books.
    3. Click Audiobooks in the navigation bar.
    4. Click the audiobook you want to delete.
    5. Press the Delete key on your keyboard.

So, I deleted and redownloaded and this time it worked! Something must have been corrupt. Thanks for the assistance.
