Apple Raid card (2009~) in Mac Pro 2010 in slot 1~3

Unfortunately,

Unwarned power down killed the mac pro (2010)'s pci slot 4, which apple raid card connected...

I checked the slot4 dead, but the other three slots works correctly.

Then I moved the apple raid card to slot 1 and it works great, exapt,

Full speed Fan blowing (maybe in pci?)....

I guess that I saw pci slot 4 is related to thermal sensor, but I am not sure...

does anybody have same problem with put apple raid card on the slot 1~3?

or fan problem after slot 4 dead?

The RAID card for your Mac will only take over the drives and operate properly in slot 1.

If the fans are the only issue, you have not probed deeply enough into the operation yet.

¿ Do you have complete backups? You may need them very soon.

The RAID card is only needed if you are running RAID 5 or similar methods that compute checksums coming and going on the fly. Disk Utility RAID is perfectly able to do Mirroring or Striping.
