what does restore iPod mean

A Restore will delete everything on your iPod and then put back only what is in the iTunes Library it is connected to.

A Restore can be the last option if an iPod is misbehaving and other methods have not fixed it. Before using Restore, have you tried a Reset, which will not remove anything from the iPod? Also, why are you asking about restore, is there a problem you are trying to fix?

no, im not trying to fix anything...this is a new ipod nano. we put pre recorded music on it..but now it wont play. it just tells me to restore it
