Why can't I successfully subscribe to "Fresh Air" podcasts?

I regularly download many podcasts to which I am subscribed. Pretty consistently I have one or both of these problems only with "Fresh Air"

Podcasts will appear by the dozens in my podcast list but none will transfer to my iPhone4S

When I go to the store while using my MPB, once again it indicates that I am not subscribed.

I have tried quitting iTunes after I (once again) unsubscribe.

I go back to the Store and once again subscribe

I have been to Fresh Air's webplace and have not found any meaningful help there.

I am, in the meantime, missing desired podcasts. The process is a timely one––all to no avail.

PLEASE help me. I am about to do some extended travel and would like this to function. I have been using iPods, iPads, etc. since the beginning of Apple but this has me stymied. I think this problem started 2 iterations of iOS ago. and it only happens with Fresh Air!
