Q: Other storage quite big!

Hey there,

So I own an iPhone 4 8GB, that always seems to pile up on storage in the "other" department? I have lots of music and I mainly use my phone for music when travelling between places but also for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram...I just don't understand what is in the "other" area and how I can see what I am able to delete to free up space.

As I said it's a 8GB phone and that means 2GB of storage in "Other" is a lot for me to have missing.

Any help appreciated,

The following article provides information regarding what the 'Other' category is typically composed of.
Other: Everything else, such as contacts, calendars, messages, emails and their attachments, Safari Offline Reading List, settings, and other system resources.

However, this may also be comprised of 'orphaned files' that can be the result of an interrupted sync at some point in the past. We've another article that details some steps that can help remove any orphaned files that are using storage unnecessarily.
