Run applescript on login

Hi all,

I'm pretty new to mac and i'm trying to run an applescript on login to mavericks. any tips on this. I can seem to find the answer relevent to Mavericks

->System Preferences->Users & Groups->[Login Items] and click [+] to select.

Test the script thoroughly then save it as an application. That way the script editor will not need to open each time the script runs. Once it is saved as an app follow Tony T1's suggestion for adding it as a login item.
