im on the net, trying to find a link to down load driver, and im not really getting anywhere.

Here is a link to the MP640 driver for OS X 10.9.

After you download, double-click to open and run the installer to get the files on to your Mac. When this has completed, open Printers & Scanners and click the plus button to add. The MP640 should be in this list as a printer and a scanner. Select the entry for the printer and the Use menu should automatically change to the driver you previously installed. Click Add to complete the printer creation.
If the above does not happen then please reply.
I've done all of that , it just doesn't recognise any printers after downloading driver . Done this a few times , checked the web to see if canon mp640 is compatible, seems like it is , but it does have a star by it .
The star in the Apple KB article indicates its the latest version of driver made by Canon.
So is the MP640 connected to the Mac via USB cable? Or is it networked somehow?
It is a wireless connection. Wi Fi printing has worked on the desk top and has been fine, otherwise. I'm completely lost as what to do.
