Q: Can OS Lion 10.7.5 be upgraded to Maverick OS?

I am looking at a 2009 iMac with Lion OS10.7.5 installed. Can it be upgraded to the newest Snow Leopard or Maverick OS?

On a 2009 iMac, Lion 10.7.5 can be upgraded directly to Mavericks 10.9.2 by downloading it from the Mac App Store. Snow Leopard is older than Lion, and upgrading to Mountain Lion 10.8 is generally only worth doing if you have software compatible with it but not Mavericks.

Thanks for the info. It will assist me in deciding..found a used iMac at what I think is a fair price and am going to go for it..Thanks again, David
