Pixelated clip after importing to FCPX

Hi there,

Quick question: why when I import a clip to Final Cut Pro X into a project it gets all pixelated?

I'm editing a video and I had to add a clip shot on another camera, and even though it looks fine on Quicktime, when I import it to FCPX it looks like this:

Looking around I noticed that the clip was shot on a 25fps, while the rest of them are on 24. Do you think this may be the problem?

If yes, is there any way to fix it?

Can you give the complete specs of the media from the QuickTime player?

Probably the combination of the computer and the drives can't handle the media. Maybe you could post some on the web to have a look at it.

Unfortunately I dont have the option of uploading videos from here...

It's strange because I received other clips from the same camera and they were all fine.

Do you think it might be because the memory of my hard drive is almost full?

That's very possible. The drive should have a minimum of 10-15% free space, especially the system drive.

Emptying the drive now may not be sufficient if the media file is already fragmented.

You might dimy need to copy it to another drive so it's rewritten. Consolidating the library to another drive might be sufficient.

Hi Tom

Sorry for the late reply.

I ended up importing it into Premiere, where it was working fine for some reason, export it again and then import it into my FCP timeline.

This was after I tried to save it on the other drives etc... I really dont know why it would do that, but Im glad I finally managed.
