Why is my mac becoming slower and slower?

Hi

Mac OS X

Version 10.8.5

I bought my Macbook pro 13" in october 2013.

I haven't upgraded to Mavericks because last time I tried, the harddisc failed and I had to delete and reinstall everything.

I use it for surfing on the internet, Wordpress and OpenOffice.

In february it became slower and slower and after 1 week the harddisc crashed, so I had to get a new harddisc.

So now, after 1 week with the new harddisc, it starts getting slow again.

Why is this happening and how can I prevent it?

Thank you.

Download and run and post the output of the Etrecheck tool.

Are you intentionally (or possibly accidentally) serving WordPress or other web services out to the open internet?

Does Activity Monitor.app (Applications > Utilities) show particular (and unexpected) system activity?

Is your new disk very full?

Does Console.app (Applications > Utilities) show blocks of repeating errors? (If it does, kindly remove any personally identifying information and post a small sample of the repeating block — maybe fifty lines of the log output, at the most — for folks to have a look at. Please do not post hundreds or thousands of lines of console output here.)
