How do you change the aspect ratio of a video from 4:3 to 16:9?

in final cut pro x

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3)

Aspect ratio is set automatically. But, there are times when someone messed something up in a clip before you got it. I recently had that happen, 16:9 HD was squashed to 4:3 SD, but you can deal with that easily. You can change it with the Transform > Scale > X parameter. In my specific case, I set Scale X parameter to 134% and was done with it.
