    Hello Carol,

Thank you for the question.  You can remove all the music stored on your iPhone or other content stored on your iPhone in Settings:

    View usage on iOS

Tap Settings > General > Usage to view the amount of space each app and its content takes on your device.

Tap an app for more detailed information about its usage.

Depending on the app, you may also be able to delete some of the app's content, or delete the app and its content.

After you have tapped on Music in the Usage section, swipe from right to left over “All Music” to get the option to tap Delete. This will remove all the music stored on your iPhone.  You can try this with other categories as well (not all apps will have the option to delete) if you prefer not to delete all your music.

Alternatively, you can use iTunes to update to iOS 7.1 using the steps in the section titled "Update your device using iTunes" in the following article to avoid deleting content on your iPhone:

That's because you deleted the playlists, and not the actual songs. To delete the actual songs, you have to find them in your Music app, swipe right to left, and select Delete.

doesnt doing this send them to the cloud then it will show a cloud with a arrow pointing down?  If every song is done this way shouldnt that free up all the music space? The reason I ask is because I have done this and still a huge part of my storage is used by music.
