I accidentally hit "Don't Trust" and now my iPhone won't sync to my computer. It won't ask me to trust it again even when I restart everything. Now what?

1. Connect cable to PC

2. Go to Settings -> Personal Hotspot

3. Turn on Personal Hotspot, then it will ask to trust PC again.

4. Turn off Personal Hotspot

Omg how can you think that is helpful, i started reading it and thinking i'd found hope but no!!!!!!!!!! How does Start>devices make any sense to yoU!? God some people. Start as in lets start with this? Start the computer? Start up your device?

That is so unclear.

Okay for everyone who has Windows! Here is how you get the "Trust This Computer" pop up if you accidentally hit "Don't Trust"

Follow this simple steps:

Start>Devices

Under "Unspecific Devices" will show your apple driver

Right Click, go to properties>Hardware> Double click the driver> Delete Driver.

When you reconnect your iPhone, it will give you the prompt to trust or dont trust, and it will reinstall the driver on your computer!

All those must be done on a full-moon night while standing one-legged. Once you are done, turn off your phone, turn off your mac, place them next to each other and wave a pair of dead chickens over them. Don't forget to feed the chickens later to a hungry dog. Bigger and Blacker the better. Come back home, prostrate in front of the phone and macbook, then turn them on again. Hopefully your karma is returned back.

I didn't like the idea of resetting and having to restore long forgotten passwords, so I started with the easiest- rebooting the PC with the device (ipad mini) attached, before it finished restarting I got the "trust/don't trust" box. How easy is that? YMMV though.

Power down device. Open iTunes on computer. Connect device to computer. Respond to computer question to let device access iTunes. Turn on device. It will ask if you trust computer.

"If you choose not to trust the connected computer, you can charge your device, but the connected computer won't be able to access any content on your device."

If your phone doesn't charge, this is a connection issue unrelated to the "Trust" selection.

I also have tapped on the "Don't Trust" option, i have tried every step i have read about and still no "Trust" message appears. This includes fully resetting my iPhones 4s (iOS7), rebooting my iPhone and MacBook Pro, i can't seem to find a way to get this to work, anybody have any ideas? Thankyou.

No one else seems to be having this particular problem, and it's maddening! When it pops up with "Trust/Don't Trust" it never lasts long enough for me to actually tap it, just an instant and then goes away, then pops up again a moment later, and it goes on. How to fix? I was able to import photos from my phone to my laptop simply by connecting and eventually the message stopped popping up, but not today. I will not give me enough time to tap either option, immediately goes away and then back again. This happens repeatedly every time I connect it to the laptop. If you restart your computer, then open itunes while your phone is plugged in, it should bring up the prompt to connect your phone to your device to sync photos etc. This should then bring up the "trust" / "don't trust" prompt on your phone. Hope this helps!

Note:

If you select Trust, the computer will be trusted indefinitely. If you select Don't Trust, you will be asked if you want to trust that computer each time you connect your device to that computer.

I've done this before, I didn't really mind at the time so I just plugged it in to have it charge most of the time. One day it asked me again, I don't know why, but I think my computer just forgot or something. My suggestion is that you just turn both off and maybe wait a day or two if its not that important right now, otherwise take someone else's advice lol.

Modular747 - I had a similar experience- I accidentally hit "Don't Trust", and my phone stopped charging on the computer. Once I resolved the trust issue, the charging resumed. The two were definitely related.

I tried this but it said that iTunes doesn't recognize the host.
