My iPad has suddenly stopped playing videos or pictures on certain websites, it won't now load you tube, google , it sakes for a flash player update, then won't allow it stating it's not supported by iOS? My I phone and parents I pad work fine on all

Our I pad has suddenly stopped loading you tube or running it's videos, it also won't load google

Also any website with pictures can't be used as a google or flash player warning keeps coming back asking for an update

But when I click to update it states iOS doesn't support flash player?

Can anyone help please?

iPad, iOS 7.1

Just wanted to thank you. I started having a similar problem--iPad Air would not play any videos (not YouTube, not Vimeo) in Chrome or Safari, which meant that I could no longer use the iPad for my MOOCs. Found this post and things seem to be working now.

So, thanks very much! You saved me a trip to the Genius Bar. Wish I could snag you one of those swank t-shirts....

Hi THANKYOU for that I've done all you suggested

The you tube site and videos are now working again

But google will not load still

Google chrome loads but won't do anything, the spinning icon just continues

I don't understand why

My I phone and parents I pad work fine with both google items?

Thanks for your help

Gareth

Flash has never worked on an iOS device. You should not be getting that message if you are using the YouTube app on the iPad and you shouldn't get in in Safari either.

Try clearing Safari, close ALL apps on your iPad, reset the device then try again.

Settings>Safari>Clear cookies and Data.

To close an app, drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.

Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

The next thing to try would be to delete the Google Chrome Browser and then install of again. When you delete an app, you delete all of the data in the app, so if you have favorites saved they will be deleted as will the browser history. I don't use Chrome on a regular basis, but I think that you can sync your desktop favorites and history again, so that shouldn't be a problem.

If you want to try deleting and reinstalling, hold down on the Google Chrome icon until it wiggles and then tap the X on the icon to delete the app. Tap the home button to stop all of the other apps from wiggling. Restart your iPad and then download Chrome again. It is free anyway, but it will also appear in your list of purchased apps in the App Store, so you can download it from there, or just search for it again in the App Store.
