Mar 25, 2014 9:13 AM in response to samdebesby jason269,Hello, samdebes.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Here are the steps on how to delete music from your iPhone.
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Before you delete, find out if you'll be able to download the song you deleted again (it depends on where you live). To delete a song:
- Tap the Music app.
- Tap the Songs category.
- Swipe left to right over the song you want to delete.
- Tap Delete.

Also, there is a new feature in iOS 7 that shows you all your purchases made with your Apple ID. To disable this feature go to Settings > Music, then turn off Show All Music. This information can be found on the user guide below.
Cheers,
Jason H.

Check in Settings > Music > Show All Music. If it's on, turn it off and see how much of the music remains.

Mar 8, 2015 2:37 PM in response to jason269by Laurel Bowman,This doesn't work. It was working, and then it stopped working all of a sudden between one song and the next. Now swiping does not delete anything. What else can I try?
