Can I Manually Change Duplex Speed on Airport Extreme Card?

Hi,

I have a Mac mini with Airport Extreme card that I use to connect to a Netgear DG834G wireless router. While running some speed tests of my internet connection at http://ndt.pert.switch.ch/ I noticed that it was producing an error message that stated:

Host set to Full and Switch set to Half duplex

I'm not sure if I'm reading this correctly, but I'm assuming that my router is running at half-duplex and my Mac at full-duplex. I ran ifconfig and the relevant line is:

Is it possible to manually alter the Airport Extreme card to run at half-duplex to see if that has any effect?

I dont' have an Airport Extreme basestation, so I'm not able to run the Airport Admin Utility.

I believe that you are misinterpreting that message.

The wireless interface only works at half duplex. It does not transmit and receive at the same time (full duplex).

Thanks for your quick response. I had a feeling that was the case for the original Airport cards but wasn't certain if that had changed for Airport Extreme. Thanks for clearing that up.
