What is the difference between login password and master password?

File Vault wants me to set a 'Master Password.' But it says "Your files will be encryped using your login password." What is the difference if my login password is an admin password? In other words, what is the advantage of using a Master Password?

Login password is your admin password that you would need to log into the computer and get to the Desktop. The Master Password is the password set to enable or disable FileVault. In effect two passwords are required to gain access to a FileVault encrypted system. If you forget your Master Password then all your data are lost.
