Why does "system services" use cellular data?
When I look at the amount of cellular data I've used today, I notice that most of it is due to "system services". For what does "system services" need to use cellular data?

If you tap on the words "System Services" on that screen it gives you details of which services and how much they have used. Some of the names used in that section may help answer your question (and some are a bit obscure at least to me as to what they are used for).
