My hard drive died recently and I had to get a new drive. I lost everything from iLife (iPhoto, iDVD, iMovie etc.). Someone suggested that I buy a old copy of iLife on either Amazon or eBay. Which version should I get that is compatable with Snow Leopard 10.6.8? Is it iLife '09 or iLife '11?

But you can reinstall form the original disks that came with your computer with no purchase necessary or the purchases iLife DVD upgrade that you purchased

Except I don't know what happened to the original disks as it's been six and a half years since I bought my iMac. I'll keep looking but I'm not hopeful I'll find them.
You can contact Apple - they may replace them for you - or purchase an iLife '11 DVD from a source like Amazon or eBay - or check with your closest Apple store - I like the Fasion Island one myself

The Apple Store wouldn't sell iLife '11, would they? I believe they only sell the current one in which you need to have Maverick.
The online Apple store will not sell old versions - you rlocal physical Apple store may be able to help - worth asking
When I gave an older Mac to my son and could not find the disks to go with it Apple support sold me the replacement disks very reasonably And the Apple stores generally are very helpful

Hi Larry, just wanted to follow up with you that two days ago on Monday, I had an online chat with Apple Support and I was able to get a complimentary copy of iLife '08 (that's the version that was installed in my iMac when I bought it in 2007) FedEx'ed to me and I have it installed, it works fine now! : )
