Bluetooth

I can't get my iPad mini which is new to me to connect via Bluetooth to my iMac my iMac is a 2011 model I have no problem with other pieces of equipment to connect can anybody help thank you.

iPad mini (Retina) Wi-Fi, iOS 7.1

If you are attempting to connect the iPad to the Mac for purposes of file transfer, it will not work. See the supported Bluetooth protocols below.
