Copying iTunes library (including album artwork) to an external hard drive

My laptop turns on but the screen is always completely blank. I've tried a few fixes but have had no luck. Would I be able to copy my whole iTunes library onto an external hard drive to then copy to a new laptop? I want all songs including album artwork. Some songs come from CDs so I have inputted the album/genre/album artwork manually. Faulty laptop is running Windows 7.
