I am interested in upgrading to the new Mac Pro, but I don't want to give up my 23" Apple display, which is working great. I'm currently using a DVI to ADC adapter for the Mac Pro tower I have now, but I don't think it will work with the new Mac Pro. Any suggestions?

DVI(female) to HDMI(male) adapter cable would work...
My understanding is that you're not supposed to use two adapters in series. Is that correct?
well, it ought to work. all I've seen so far with ADC and HDMI is Apple's powered adapter which is around $200
here's the gotcha. ADC also carries power along with the video signal, and, it's non-standard so you have to go with what you can get. I suppose you could try DisplayPort to ADC but I don't know how that would work.

You can think of the Apple display with its DVI-to-ADC adapter attached as single display with a DVI interface. It just has a cable that looks like a snake that just had lunch, with that "brick" adapter halfway up the cable.
The Apple mini display port to Dual-Link DVI adapter ($99) works fine with the ADC to DVI adapter. It is a mess of wires, but it works. Note: the brightness control does not work.
The brightness control on that display should depend on having the USB cord connected all the way through.
Even with the USB connected it will not work. I have read that this monitor is no longer supported by Apple. Brightness control stopped with Mavericks.
