How do I scan a hard drive and import only videos into iMovie?

I'm transferring videos over from my old PC, using an external hard drive to do the transfer since Migration Assistant keeps crashing.

My videos are mixed in among thousands of photos.

How do I import ONLY videos into iMovie?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013), iOS 7.1

install picasa

let it scan the entire disk, and visually you should be able to see all movies - move every movie to a specific folder

then you can copy that folder's contents wherever you want
