Yes. Follow the pairing instructions for your headset and in the article you came from. On your iPad go to Settings->Bluetooth, turn it on if not on, and search for your headset.
Ok, I have done this with both my ipad and bluetooth headset. It shows that it is connected in Settings. I put the device in my ear (with it on) and start up itunes but am hearing it through my ipad speakers not the headset. I push the call button on my bluetooth headset and it comes up with Siri on my ipad wanted me to ask a question. I am hearing her through the headset though but nothing else seems to play through it.
Thanks for the link, I found this in my search but it does not seem to help me with the problem I am having which is this (quoted from a previous post):

You are using a telephone HandsFree Bluetooth headsed. If you are wanting to play music or watch a movie you need a Bluetooth device that supports A2DP (Stereo Bluetooth).
When I swipe up I have AirDrop but no AirPlay.
o.k, Then as Deggie suggests above, your BT headset may not support the A2DP Bluetooth profile.
What make and model is your headset?
It is a Emerson EM229 Wireless Headset
That is not an A2DP compatible headset.
Thanks Deggie, I will have to look into A2DP headsets.
Just for your information, A2DP headsets have an earcup for BOTH ears. As deggie said, it's stereo i.e. one channel for each ear.
