My sister was cleaing out her attic, she came across an IMac 2002, excellent condition . I can't get into it . It wants a password. How do I format or do a clean install? Please someone help me.....

Resetting or changing a password:

You can delete the entire contents of the hard drive by reformatting it in Disk Utility, but how depends slightly on what operating system it is running.
Do not do this if you do not have the original install disks!

Note a 2002 iMac can't run Snow Leopard.
Also 2002 iMac is likely to want to run HFS+. If running 10.2.2 or earlier, you want HFS+ Standard and not Journaled. If there is a chance you might want to use it as exclusively a Mac OS X 10.2.3 or later, you can format it HFS+ Journaled.
