new SSD to mid 2009 macbook pro old HD won't mount
Hello,
I am new to post on forum's but use them a lot for help. I have recently updated my wife's old mac book pro 15 inch mid 2009, with a new ssd. I did keep her old HD, in case with the backup she did missed anything. She needed a new install, the laptop had a ton of crap on it and wanted it wiped. I did a fresh OS install and the SSD without issue. She later on realized she needed something off the old HDD. I have a sabrient tool usb -> sata that I connected but the drive shows up, and after about 3 min of 'hang' it says the drive disconnected.
If i do a diskutil list during the 3 min, it does show, but the actual partition never gets mounted. If I try and mount it via diskutility or command line it will say that 'disk2' does not exist.
I have used the tool many times to mount drives, but never an old mac hdd to a new install with new ssd.
Any help is appreciated,
Thanks,
Erik
