i updated the OS on my iPhone5 to 7.1 and since then my MacBook Pro doesnt see it to sync. I have hard rebooted both. the MAcbook sees my iPad fine, but not the iPhone. Itunes is 11.1.5 and MAcbook is 10.1.5 All updated. any ideas?

I am not a Mac person; however, my spouse asked this of me for her iPhone something S Verizon. I suggested to her that she shut down, connect the iPhone, boot up and log in and make sure she is running iTunes, then click on Devices. I think it worked out for her, just a few days ago.
sorry, went offline for a while. Macbook doesnt see my iphone 5 even when connected by USB. The USB works to charge the iphone, but the iPhone doesnt show up as a device on either Finder or iTunes. It would appear that updating to 7.1 made the iPhone invisible.
