Q: My appletv will not connect to the internet

When i turn on the appletv I get a screen with two options, computers or settings. I know the internet is working for my computer and wifi in the same room. Any ideas out there?

Nope. It says it is on my wireless account, the signal bars are fullo but when I test the signal it says it cannot connect to the server.

ASUS router. I know it's a few years old, but it was working fine up until the other day.

You can try resetting your Apple TV to factory settings. Maybe there is something wrong with the Apple TV itself.

Make sure router is up to date.

Check that DNS is set to automatic.

Connect Apple TV via ethernet to rule out wifi issues.

Signal test on the device isn't an accurate picture of your network

You can go to istumbler (Mac) or netstumbler (PC) to get a report of the network, see what it says there for signal strength and noise.
