Time capsule will only recognize one hard drive

My time capsule only recognizes one hard drive for back up. The other drive doesn't show up in the select volume to backup list.

Are you asking about Time Machine backups here?

Is the "other" drive connected directly to your Mac using USB or FireWire? If not, where is this drive connected?

Is the "other" drive formatted in Mac OS Extended (Journaled)?

Have you removed the drive from the list of items that are "excluded" from backups in Time Machine Preferences / Options?

Click on the Time Machine 'clock" icon at the top of the screen

Click Time Machine Preferences

Click Options

Here, you will see a list of items that are excluded from backups.

By default, the solid state HD is "excluded" from backups, so you should see it there. Click on the drive name to highlight it, then click the - (minus) button to remove it from the list of items that are excluded from backups.

Once the drive has been removed from the list of excluded items, it will be included in the next backup.
