Q: Cannot update to Maverick from Snow Leopard

I have downloaded the Maverick update and just about to agree and update and get a message...cannot install Maverick on my drive what can I do to

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Here are Mavericks requirements:

Has your drive got more than 8GB available? If not, free some space.

I've already looked through those requirements. everything is ok. u see.... when i open app store and press the button download appears this circle and nothing happens then((
