Using Korg NanoKontrol 2 with GarageBand

I'm running Snow Leopard (10.6.8) I recently got a Korg NanoKontrol 2 (surface controller) to use with my GarageBand (Version 11), however, after installing the drivers etc, I can't get GarageBand to connect or sync with this device. Any suggestions / advice would be greatly appreciated.

GarageBand (Mac) '11, Mac OS X (10.6.8)
