IPhone 5c battery is draining, stays on 1% for a long time, then doesn't reboot until 30-60m later. May be a battery problem what do I do?

So I purchased my iPhone 5c in October, the lightning cable got lumpy near the lightning head side and stopped working so I got a different one maybe the brand lenmar my dad purchased from walmart for me, my battery life went down It used to be around 80-90 percent when I got home from school now it will die before I'm done. It will stay on 1% for like 5-10 mins then die and not restart until a long time and then displays like 40% I'm not sure what to do but I heard if you use different chargers like apple first hen a weaker one next it can mess it up so can someone please give me some advice ! I've already searched everywhere thanks also is this covered on warranty? Problems became showing up before I downloaded 7.1 so I thought it was because of the update but I've had it for a while now and it hasn't helped

iPhone 5c, iOS 7.1

Off-brand cables and chargers are often a source of problems with iOS devices...always use genuine Apple cables and chargers as they meet the specs for the device.

The best solution at this point would be to take the iPone, cable and charger to an Apple store genius bar and have all tested to see if there are faults in the components.
