Hello! I accidentally deleted the document folder in the Finder sidebar as i was trying to drag it to my dock to create a shortcut... any ideas?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

Hi, this didn't work for me either :/ but after a long time a figured out another way.


You can click on Finder, click "Search" and type out "Documents" (and click search for "This Mac"). Then you'll need to scroll through everything until you find your document folder (if there are many folders called "Document" make sure to find the one with a page drawn on it). Then you simply drag that folder to the sidebar!

what if the document folder is actually deleted to not have it checkboxed in the preferences 😉 can't we also stop with the multiple device log in checks for TRUSTED devices- we don't need all the security-


yes I actually don't know how my document folder got deleted- and know I can copy and paste the icon to match the original folder- but figured I'd challenge more answer than the versions provided
