Ipod Shuffle stuck on same song

Hey .. my Ipod is doing something strange recently. When I start it the first song is ALWAYS the same .. and it is set to shuffle. The sequence of songs then remains the same each time I turn it on and off. It has been doing this for a week and it is a bit annoying as I have to advance through many songs now to get to new ones.

I did wipe out the entire play list and started fresh but the same problem exists.

Any additional help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Hello,

Have you tried resetting your iPod?: hold the "menu" + "select" (center) buttons together for about 7 seconds. Then the Apple logo will appear on the screen.

I know you've "wiped out the entire play list and started fresh", but have you tried restoring your iPod? See this link about it:

Restore iPod

Restoring shuold take about 5 minutes. This process will delete the music off your iPod, but will not affect your iTunes library. Restoring isn't just deleting songs, because it can definetely clear up glitches in your iPod.

I hope this helps,

Kylene

Hi ... sorry I did not see your question until just now.

No, resetting the software on the Ipod did not work. I ended up going to a MAC dealer and explained the problem and what I had done to correct it. They completely agreed with my methodogy and suggested that I ask for a replacement Shuffle as this one has something physically wrong with it. I am waiting for the replacement now.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!
Marc
