Dropbox favourites files on my iPad lose their star the next day

Dropbox favourites problem with my iPad ( 7.1 version ) - Until about 2 weeks ago, I used dropbox to store approx 2000 sets of lyrics for singing live and have had no problems with favourites in the past. Suddenly, the marked favourite files ( stars ) all lost their stars and I have had to re-mark each of the 2000 files again individually - the next day, they lose all their stars again. Although I need to find out what is wrong, this would not be so much of a problem if I could mark all the files as favourites in one go but I don't know how to do that.. if it is possible at all. Posting the problem on the internet, I haven't come across ayone with the same problem - Help!! I have the latest iPad ( iPad 4 - uses lightning connector )

Since the online version of DropBox doesn't appear to provide a Favorites function), I would think the favorites indicator are being lost in the sync process. Hard to say. I don't use that feature often, but the flag appears to be sticking for me, at least short term.

You might want to reach out to DropBox support: https://www.dropbox.com/help [see the links at the bottom of the page].

You might find using folders to be a more reliable way of organizing the files.

Thanks James for taking the trouble to reply. I have reported the problem to dropbox as you suggested. I have been using the iPad and Dropbox for a long time so this is a problem that has just started occuring and can't see why because I am not doing anything different and there is plenty of memory available on my iPad.

I seriously doubt storage has anything to do with it. Drop box was updated recently (I downloaded the update yesterday I believe) as was Mailbox which it is now integrated with. Far more likely the issue has something to do with that.

Hi Dave

I have just posted the same question! Didn't see yours at first.

I have had this problem off and and on for about 12 months and lose the Favorites Star for no apparent reason too. I don't have your patience and if it dies it again I am going to dump the iPad and explore the use of a tablet which can take Word documents from my laptop. Don't know if it is possible but re-staring the files is a real pain.

I bet if this was an Apple Cloud Application it would work!

Sorry I don't have a solution but you have a fellow musician with the same problem.

I have gtried Dropbox help but all I got was a reply saying they couldn't answer every question! Not very helpful. Pity as it is a great programme.
