Error re-installing OneDrive on my 10.9.2 MacBook Pro

I had to re-install OneDrive on my 10.9.2 MacBook Pro. To avoid duplicate files, I deleted the previous directory but going through setup, after specifying my home directory as location I get "Your OneDrive folder can't be created in the location you selected - Try a different location. Make sure that the location isn't on a removable drive, or on a disk that has a case-sensitive format." Of course none of these conditions are true. Repeated several times on multiple hard drive locations. Ideas on how to get by this?

1. You do not really have to delete old directory when reinstalling OneDrive. If you point to the existing one it will sync the files instead of duplicating. Unless you had other issues which was the reason for reinstalling.

2. Try creating a folder under your Home directory and call it i.e. OneDrive and point to it in preferences.

I have reviewed the FAQ at Microsoft - assistance there. I also got into a chat session with Microsoft Support and their response was they "provide no support for Mac OS - contact Apple."

I have reposted my question at the windows_software discussion group.

My attempts to re-install were both with no OneDrive directory and with a new folder under home directory. Same result.

Yup, have to let things update and that's the best (normal) way to show that a location is no longer in use.
