I have a 2013 MacBook Pro and I have recently purchased an Apple TV which works perfectly with my iPad and iPhone, however my MacBook Pro won't pick up that the Apple TV is even connected to the network. I have had this problem a few times and the last time I completely restored to Mavericks and it was able to pick up the Apple TV, I do not want to have to restore my Mac again. Any fixes?

I have had the same problem and I have scrolled through different threads to try to find a solution. After trying different things what has worked for me was as simple as restarting the computer! The airplay icon magically reappeared!
