Q: itunes cannot see any of my devices.

Both my ipad mini and my iphone 5, when connect via cable to my computer as the following: Trust this computer? I click yes, but neither is able to be seen in itunes. I can see them from the computer explorer, but not via itunes. Not sure how to get them to show up and sync them. Help!
