Will this ram work on my macbook?

Hi guys!

I was just wondering whether this ram will work on my MacBook or not?

Komputerbay MACMEMORY Apple 4GB Kit (2x 2GB Modules) PC2-5300 667MHz DDR2 SODIMM iMac and Macbook Memory

I own a MacBook 2,1 Intel Core 2 Duo A1181 Late 2006 White model.

I confirmed it through Amazon that it would work, but when I recieved the product, it would not register and only give me a sleep blinking light.

I am getting a replacement of the product, hoping it was a defect. Just making sure this product will work on my Mac!

Yes, it will work in your computer.

Maximum Memory	3.0 GB (Actual) 2.0 GB (Apple)
Memory Slots	2 - 200-pin PC2-5300 (667MHz) DDR2 SO-DIMM

You will only find 3 GBs of available memory.

However, I've tried to re-seat it multiple times and try different combinations but it would not work. Is there a high possibility of a defective ram?

There's always that possibility. You may want to try one 2 GB module with one of your original modules. You may need to use a 2 and 1 combination.

Oh, I meant to ask if the computer works with just one of the 2 GB modules? Try with both. This will at least tell you if they are good.

Then either both modules are bad (not very likely, but still possible) or your computer's system and controller will not recognize 2GB modules which I find unusual.

You can return the ones you purchased for a refund within some return period provided by the vendor. I would then look to one of these sources for the memory:

Crucial.com
